The Scholars' Lounge
The Notre Dame Scholars' Lounge is located on the first floor of Notre Dame's historic Main Building, the most recognized landmark at the University, which is popularly referred to as "The Golden Dome." The Lounge, cozily furnished with comfortable seating, tables, chairs, and a kitchenette bursting with snacks and beverages, is open during business hours and weekday evenings. Scholars study in the lounge, socialize, and host meetings and events. Because program staff offices are located on the perimeter of the Lounge, scholars can easily drop in to chat or meet for a scheduled appointment to discuss enrichment opportunities, professional development, or academic advising questions.
The Lounge is the site for "Lounge Talks," informal events during which distinguished alumni, campus partners, and supporters of the program share their wisdom regarding post-graduate career paths, study abroad opportunities, obtaining research funding, finding internships and employment in various fields, and developing leadership skills.
Once per month, the Scholars' Lounge is also home to All-Scholar Forums, a networking opportunity where scholars from all classes can share information about service, research, internship, and creative opportunities with their peers, and First Monday Meet-ups, monthly scholar social events with seasonally-inspired snacks.
